American Heart Association CPR and AED Certification and First Aid - COMMUNITY EDUCATION STAFF ONLY
This class is for Eden Prairie Schools transportation staff and covers CPR, AED, and First Aid.
8:30 a.m. First Aid: Learn a plan of action to recognize and deal with sudden illnesses, injuries, and environmental emergencies. This video-based, instructor-led course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. The Certificate is valid for two years.
12:00 p.m. CPR and AED: Learn to follow a plan to act quickly and effectively in a life-threatening situation. You will be trained in CPR and Airway Obstruction for adults, children, and infants by practicing your skills with manikins and AED (Automated External Defibrillators) trainers. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting. Please inform your instructor if you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities.
