  • Online Band Lessons

Online Band Lessons! With school, sports, family, and homework, it’s tricky to find a consistent day of the week for band lessons - maybe even impossible. Even if you can find a day, getting to and from the lesson can be a transportation nightmare. Maybe you should try Online Band Lessons! This course will be a blend of online learning and direct instruction from one of the band teachers from Central Middle School in Eden Prairie, Mr. Anderson. It is open to students of all band instruments in grades 5-12: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. Live, face-to-face meetings will happen only minimally - most of the work will be done by submitting videos of yourself performing the excerpts and assignments. Mr. Anderson will then reply with helpful feedback, recommendations, practice suggestions, and assigned material for the next video. For online lessons, one exchange of video lesson material per week is standard. However, if you would like to move faster, we can arrange something. The web-based classroom should work on any device that can browse the internet and record video. There is also a free app available, but it isn’t necessary. Once enrolled, we will set you up with everything you need for the course. Hopefully this is a convenient option for your student to keep an active music life within your hectic schedule.
