This summer course is for the young learners. It is designed to ignite and reinforce their love for reading and writing in Spanish for 1st-3rd grade students. Throughout this adventure-filled course, children will embark on a journey of discovery through engaging stories and creative writing activities.
My name is Paola Tavera Kobielush. I am originally from Lima, Peru where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and my master’s degree in Learning Disabilities. Before coming to the U.S., I taught elementary school in Peru for six years. I have been teaching at EHSI for fifteen years. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade.
I have a wonderful family here and much of my extended family lives in Peru. I am married to my husband Sam and we have a fifteen-year-old son, David Luis, who is in 10th grade at South West Christian High School. We also have a dog named Gigi, she is active and very playful, and a goldendoodle puppy named Sami; he is very energetic and loving. I am part of a Peruvian Dance Group called Mi Perú-Minnesota. Additionally, in my free time I dance traditional music from my home country and watch romantic comedies.I am looking forward to having fun together reading, talking and doing fun activities.
