About Outreach Classes
Early Childhood Family Education is a wonderful resource for Eden Prairie families. Finances or transportation should not be a barrier for families interested in learning more about how to best support your child’s growth and development. In an effort to make ECFE classes available to all families, we host outreach classes that are taught in the community. Currently, they are hosted at the following locations for for families living at Preserve, Briar Hill, Broadmoor and Fountain Place apartment buildings.

Family School offers free afternoon English classes for adults, Little Eagles preschool for 3 and 4 year olds, and an infant and toddler classroom for younger children. Adult English classes are provided by Metro South Adult Basic Education, and children's classes are staffed by licensed early childhood educators. For the fall semester of the 20-21 school year, adults will attend classes online while preschoolers attend afternoon Lower Campus preschool. Care for infants and toddlers will not take place during the fall semester. Class takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on your English level. You will see a note that this class is full with a waitlist. Please enroll anyway: everyone who enrolls in the class will be on the waitlist until we receive a test score from Metro South ABE and place you in a specific class section. NOTE: For the 20-21 school year, we are not offering preschool scholarships beyond what is normally offered through Little Eagles Preschool. Adult classes and the infant and toddler classroom are provided free of cost. Family School is a collaboration between Eden Prairie Schools and our partner Metro South ABE. Metro South is partially funded with a grant from the Minnesota Department of Education using state and/or federal funding, Minnesota Statute Section 124D.522 and/or CFDA 84.002, Adult Basic Education-Grants to States.
