EPIC Youth ProgramsREGISTRATION PARENT HELP GUIDE We understand the excitement of registering for summer youth programs and activities. We plan our courses in a way that allows for multiple opportunities throughout the summer for students to enroll in a class, with numerous sections of most courses being offered. As we continue hiring staff, we will be adding more courses online. In some situations, courses are subject to change as we make adjustments for changes to staff schedules and availability. Changes to classes will be communicated directly to the enrolled participants. Eden Prairie Community Education is dedicated to providing youth programming to enhance and grow learning opportunities for students. Our youth program ignites new interests and challenges students in a fun, safe and supportive atmosphere. EPIC Youth Programs aim to connect students to learning outside of the classroom in a variety of innovative ways. Enrichment and recreational classes are available before and after school and in the summer. No matter your child’s interests, we offer fun programs that will challenge your student in a safe and supportive atmosphere. Choose from sports, art, drama, STEM and more! Have questions about registration or program? Contact us at EPIC@edenpr.org. Our 2023 Summer Youth Programs will be hosted at the following sites based on age groups: All programs students entering Kindergarten through entering 3rd Grade will be hosted at Oak Point - Eagle Heights Elementary Programs for students entering 4th Grade through entering 6th Grade students will be hosted at Eden Lake Elementary. These small-group, hands-on courses cover various topics and are designed to maintain and strengthen skills in a fun, engaging, and interactive experience. Targeted Services courses require a teacher referral, and qualifying students attend at no cost. Elementary School Targeted Services is offered Monday–Thursday as two-week long sessions three times during the summer: Session 1: June 19–22 + June 26–29 Session 2: July 10–13 + July 17–20 Session 3: July 24–27 + July 31-August 3 Students may attend one, two, or all three sessions. Once you are registered, your Targeted Services teacher will review your students Continuous Learning Plan to place them in the correct sessions of Reading and/or Math. Sample Daily Schedule - 7:30-9:30 am: Reading and/or Math 9:30-11:30 am: Math and/or Reading Your student must be referred for Targeted Services to enroll in a CMS Targeted Services course. EPIC Youth Enrichment Summer Courses Our EPIC Enrichment provides children ages Pre-K through 9th grade with fun and educational programs and activities over the summer. EPIC Enrichment courses are offered weekly from June 19–August 17 (no courses will be offered July 3–7). Courses typically run Monday– Thursday, with morning and afternoon sessions of programming. EPIC Enrichment is open to all students. Some courses will include a Pick Your Price option for families. Families have the option to select the price that works best for their individual situation. We know that youth benefit from participating in high-quality out-of-school time (OST) programs. OST programs keep kids safe and inspire them through continuous learning in safe and fun environments. We aim to remove financial barriers families may face when considering their involvement in youth programs. One of our strategies is a new payment option for families. When selecting the price for a Pick Your Price course, you can choose the best price for your situation. Regardless of the price selected, the course offered is the same for all students. There is no difference in instruction, supplies or what is offered in the course. We ask families to partner with us in this initiative and support one another by selecting the best price for their current financial situation. When we work together, we can provide positive and meaningful youth programs for each student. Thank you for your continued support of our youth programs! Participants in our programs may be photographed, filmed, or interviewed and the pictures, videos and quotes may be used by Eden Prairie Community Education and / or local news media. If you do not want to be photographed, filmed, or interviewed, please contact our office at 952-975-6940 or send an email to epcommunityed@edenpr.org so we may honor your wish.Category
