Jr Engineering: Theme ParkSTEMHave a blast using LEGO® Technics Engineering Kits to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a team-based environment. Students working in pairs will be exploring engineering principles such as gears, wheels, levers, and pulleys during each session. Then we will build working theme park rides and machines that reinforce concepts learned. After each building project, students will customize, share, compete in challenges, and enjoy experimenting with their creations. Extreme EV3: BattlebotsSTEMThis camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO building system’s versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO). Working each day in teams, students will construct fun LEGO models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day’s activities. Final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle. Digital Film Production: Special EffectsSTEMLearn film editing basics and how to use Hollywood-style special effects techniques. Possible special effects learned in class include animated lasers, Harry Potter’s Invisible cloak, custom Star War-like light swords, pulp sci-fi crawl, Thor’s lightning hammer, or hyperdrive effects. Groups' final projects will be emailed to parents, or students may bring a USB jump drive on the last day. Student photography releases must be signed for this class.Summer 2022 Youth

3D Engineering: Architectural & Structural DesignSTEMBring your imagination to life. Become a master bricklayer and use our special architectural LEGO® kits to build your creations. Be an architect as you learn the principles of construction. The main goal of the course is to introduce the concept of 3 dimensions and their role in design. Working in teams, students will construct buildings, structures, towers, castles, and more. Students will learn construction principles and use math skills as they experiment with scale and size, staggering vs. stacking bricks, and more. We’ll build houses with removable roofs, castles with turrets, and towers of strength! It might just be impossible to exhaust the creative potential of LEGO® bricks.
