  • American Heart Association CPR and AED Certification Course

    Learn to follow a plan to act quickly and effectively in a life-threatening situation. You will be trained in CPR and Airway Obstruction for adults, children, and infants by practicing your skills with manikins and AED (Automated External Defibrillators) trainers. An American Heart Certification Card and 3 CEUs will be issued at the end of class. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting. Please inform your instructor if you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities. Bring a pad or blanket to kneel on. Cost of the certification card is included. Class registration fee includes a book.

Learn a plan of action to recognize and deal with sudden illnesses, injuries, and environmental emergencies. This video-based, instructor-led course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. The Certificate is valid for two years.

  • Heath Rhythms: Drumming for Your Health

    Research shows that drumming is beneficial for your health and wellness. Course uses lecture and hands on practice. The instructor will lead you through a Health Rhythms session. In this class, you will define recreational drumming and music making, explain the benefits of drumming for health, and gain understanding about how drumming may benefit your health issues. Open to all; no music or drumming experience necessary. Bring a drum if you have one, otherwise instruments provided. You will have the opportunity to make a rhythm instrument. Supply fee of $5.00 paid to instructor in class.
