The instructors include a guest teen entrepreneur, and a longtime instructor LeeAnne Krusemark who is a Chamber of Commerce Past President, current author/editor, and a nationwide Professor of Publishing at higher learning institutions, including Harvard Adult Education.   • A Tex Mex Fiesta

    We'll begin with Empanadas; a pastry filled with beef, tomatoes, potatoes and herbs. Flautas are next with chicken in a jalapeno and garlic paste fried crisp in a corn tortilla. We'll then prepare authentic Mexican rice made with onions, garlic, tomatoes and fresh cilantro along with Mexican style corn prepared with lime aioli, cayenne pepper and Cotija cheese. Fajitas follow with tender strips of marinated beef and chicken with fresh sautéed bell peppers and onions wrapped in a warm tortilla shell. We'll finish the fiesta with a Yucatecan-style delight; a fresh coconut blended with rich custard in a wonderful nutty crust, baked to a caramelly brown, and served with creme fraiche. This class is in partnership with Eastern Carver County Schools. **This class is taking place at Chaska High School.

    In this engaging course, students will learn the content and strategies they need to find success with the ACT. Taught by current and retired certified teachers from Eden Prairie High School, students will participate in comprehensive sessions on each section of the test (English, math, reading, science, and writing). Students will learn the format of each section, strategies for how to approach the questions, and will have the opportunity to complete practice questions and a full practice ACT test.     American Heart Association Heartsaver® CPR AED & First Aid Training Certification Course

    Learn to follow a plan to act quickly and effectively in a life-threatening situation. You will be trained in CPR and Airway Obstruction for adults, children, and infants by practicing your skills with manikins and AED (Automated External Defibrillators) trainers. You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing and lifting. Please inform your instructor if you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities. Consider bringing a pad or blanket to kneel on. Additionally, this course covers first aid. Learn a plan of action to recognize and deal with sudden illnesses, injuries, and environmental emergencies. This video-based, instructor-led course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. Successful participation in this all in-person course results in an American Heart Association ‎Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED ‎Heartsaver® Certification. The Certificate is valid for two years. The course is the same for first timers and those who are recertifying. Note: We are back to fully in-person training. There is no e-Learning component to this course.

    Perimenopause starts around the age of 35 for most women and can last 10-15 years. Common symptoms include fatigue, migraines, weight gain, water retention, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, hot flashes, anger flashes, migraines, fibroids, exaggerated PMS and more. Once you understand exactly what is causing all the troublesome symptoms, they are much easier to correct. We'll discuss how to get hormone levels measured - blood test vs. saliva test and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs. bio-identical; acupressure points to assist in symptom relief and nutritional musts. You'll leave with multiple tools and techniques for restoring health and well-being.     Ballet, Tap & Jazz Combo: A ballet, tap & jazz combination class. Students will learn basic techniques and skills, focusing on skill development and combination memorization. Dancers will perform three dances on the last day of class. Ballet shoes, tap shoes, and jazz shoes are required. Attire for Classes: Dance attire is strongly encouraged. Leotard or form-fitting shirt, shorts, or skirt. Appropriate shoes are required for each dance discipline. K-5th Grade Optional Hip Hop Add-On: A 30-minute Hip Hop class, optional to add on to your combo class. Tennis shoes for indoor use only required.
