  • Intermediate Pickleball with Mark Sulzbach

    Join us for a fun and engaging class designed to elevate your pickleball game! Through targeted drills, students will improve reaction time and advanced techniques such as third-shot drops, speed-ups, resets, roll volleys, drop volleys, and a variety of serves. We'll focus on enhancing consistency and accuracy in serves, serve returns, and other fundamental strokes. In addition, students will explore teamwork, court positioning, and strategic gameplay. Each class concludes with the opportunity to apply new or refined skills during observed gameplay in the final 30 minutes. This class is ideal for players with a skill level of approximately 3.0–3.5. Protective eyewear is encouraged, and please avoid wearing running shoes for optimal performance and safety.

    This class is not about instant ramen. In fact, we will be making Japanese miso ramen from scratch. We will start with making ramen noodles from scratch. Then, we’ll braise cha shu chicken and make miso broth. We will serve our ramen with marinated soft-boiled eggs and different toppings.

    Join one or both parts of this 2-part PeopleFest! event! After the 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities | Part 1 Training from OutFront Minnesota, there will be a facilitated community dialogue on fostering inclusivity in Eden Prairie! Part 1: 6:00-7:00 PM OutFront Minnesota will be leading the Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities | Part 1 Training. The training covers basic terms and concepts relating to gender and sexuality. We will learn about the differences between sex assigned at birth, gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation and what 2SLGBTQIA+ means. We will also begin to learn basic tips on how to be more inclusive and supportive in our daily lives. Part 2: 7:15-8:15 PM Creating a sense of belonging and safety doesn’t end with training—it’s an ongoing conversation. This interactive World Café discussion led by the Eden Prairie Human Rights and Diversity Commission (HRDC) will empower participants to continue discussing what they learned at the OutFront Minnesota: Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Communities training and discuss where we go next. Leave this 2-hour class with a simple, prepared will and have new peace of mind. Instruction and all the necessary forms, witnesses and notaries are provided. Instructor Adam Altman is an attorney experienced in drafting wills. Each individual, regardless of marital status, needs his/her own will. Couples should register both individuals. *The content of this class would be more helpful to those with U.S. citizenship.

    This course provides a fun, engaging introduction to Spanish. Learn basic sentence construction, verbs, pronunciation, and useful travel phrases and tips for Spanish-speaking countries. Participants will enjoy practicing together, sharing common interests, and gaining practical language skills for an enjoyable experience. These are the key instructional objectives based on the course description: 1. Basic Sentence Construction: Students will learn to form simple sentences and phrases in Spanish. 2. Verb Usage: Students will understand and use essential verbs in basic conversations. Some differences between Spanish and English verbs. 3. Pronunciation: Students will practice and improve their Spanish pronunciation for better communication. 4. Vocabulary: Students will acquire some basic and useful vocabulary. 5. Cultural Insight: Students will gain cultural knowledge by discussing travel experiences and common interests with fellow participants as well as learning the peculiarities of different Spanish speaking countries. 6.     Participants should have attended Spanish for Beginners: 1 with Jorge and/or have some prior knowledge of the Spanish language. The program builds on what we covered in Level 1, adding new verbs, vocabulary, and an introduction to the past tense for verbs. The instructor will adjust and modify the course according to the needs of his students. Class Overview: Objective: To build upon foundational Spanish knowledge, enabling students to confidently engage in conversations, understand basic grammatical structures, and gain cultural insights into Spanish-speaking countries. Course Content 1. Grammar Expansion of regular and irregular verb conjugations in the present tense (ir, tener, hacer, querer, venir). Introduction to the preterite tense for expressing past actions, including both regular and common irregular verbs (fui, hice, quise, tuve). Reflexive verbs for describing daily routines and self-directed actions (levantarse, ducharse, llamarse). Use of subject pronouns (yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros, etc.) and object pronouns (me, te, lo/la, nos, les). Possessive adjectives and pronouns (mi, tu, su, nuestro, mío, tuyo, suyo). Building complex sentences with conjunctions (porque, pero, aunque, entonces, así que). 2. Vocabulary Thematic vocabulary covering: Daily routines and activities. Food and dining. Travel and directions. Shopping and common items. Family and relationships. Expansion of question words (qué, cómo, cuándo, cuánto, quién). 3. Communication Skills Practical conversational scenarios: Ordering food in a restaurant. Asking for and giving directions. Describing daily routines and past experiences.
